Echodale Farm
Echodale Farm LLC produces a terroir-based cider up in the NEK. Echodale consists of a 20 acre apple orchard designed and grown using regenerative principles of permaculture and biodynamics. Consequently, the orchard is highly biodiverse, based on the idea that if we get the biology right, the chemistry will follow. We do not use any conventional inputs. The orchard contains some 80 different apple varieties, along with other stone fruits, berries, herbs and perennials, pollinator plants, bees, and animals that rotate through. There is a ciderhouse on the property, and every apple we grow goes into the cider. Similarly, we only use our own apples which is reflected in the cider: light, dry, effervescent; fruit-forward and revealing the complexity of the apples, but never sweet. This unique terroir-based cider can be tasted and purchased only at the EO Randall General Store in West Glover.
