Each year the VSFA community comes together for a daylong networking and business education event, a valued opportunity for members to connect with each other while learning ways to sustain, grow, and manage their business. Sponsorship and donation opportunities can be accessed in the registration form.
We are thrilled to announce this years' keynote speaker will be Adeline Druart the CEO of Lawson’s Finest Liquids, a B Corp certified leading craft brewery. Previously, Druart worked at Vermont Creamery for nearly 20 years, starting as a cheesemaker intern before progressing through the company to President and then Vice-President at Land O'Lakes post-acquisition. Druart is passionate about business ecosystems, inclusive team culture, and creating lasting social and environmental impacts. She is the executive committee vice chair and a board member of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility.

Kris Brines, an employment attorney with Paul Frank + Collins, will discuss essential workplace policies that are compliant with the wide array of employment laws and reflect best practices. Employment policies and handbooks can be daunting and create risk for a business, but done well, they can make businesses better employers and reduce risk. Kris will also discuss various areas where employers can enhance benefits to increase employee satisfaction and retention. Participants will leave with a roadmap to create or edit an employee handbook and language for some basic policies that are important for all businesses.
